Farrah, I am sorry it has taken me so long to check back and respond. There are too many supplements (and even foods) that can interfere with or exacerbate the harm of chemotherapy. This is one of the reasons we encourage everyone with cancer to change their diet to omit cancer feeding foods and beverages by following our ANTIFUNGAL FOOD CHOICES LIST diet, which is intended to prevent microbial overgrowth, such as fungus, parasites, viruses and bacteria.

For those who choose to use chemotherapy, I am sure they would not want to prolong therapy any longer than they must because something they are taking fights against those chemical toxins that are intended to kill cancer cells in the body. Beta Glucan can assist in killing cancer cells while strengthening and protecting T-cells, NK-cells and other “healthy” cells in the body. Beta Glucan makes a person stronger, while their body is under assault from chemotherapy, so they can complete chemotherapy, rather than most who are so weakened by practicing chemotherapy, which tears them down so badly that they must take breaks from chemo; thereby, prolonging the length of time they have to have this therapy. Because chemotherapy also destroys good flora in the gastrointestinal tract, it is important to take probiotics to nourish and protect the gut, which is easily destroyed by chemotherapy.

You have probably heard us speak of the high importance of systemically cleansing the body AFTER chemotherapy, to rid the body of chemical residues left behind that can settle in other parts of the body (especially the liver, gallbladder, pancreas and colon) and lead to cancer in the future. Using products like Proteolytic Systemic Oral Enzymes (PSOEs), Spirulina or Chlorella and Alpha Lipoic Acid while undergoing chemo is not recommended because these supplements bind to and expel chemotherapy chemical before they do their job. Once surgeries, chemo and radiation therapies are completed, those supplements aid with cleansing and expelling from the body, the anesthesia, chemicals and other toxins from the body while also aiding with healing. Continuing the beta glucan and probiotics after these procedures also is recommended to fully rebuild the immune system and heal/rebuild gut health, as well.

Please continue to stay in touch; we are here to help in any way we are able ~ Vicki

Thanks for that info and glad I could be an inspiration Vicky. I discussed this with Mom and she is not interested in using marijuana. Why can’t she have more than the beta glucan and go pack?

HELLO FARRAH!

I have been collecting information about medical marijuana to post in our News and your post inspired me to post it today:

CANCER ALTERNATIVES AND MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISCUSSION

Essentially, the longer a person uses marijuana, and/or the more often they use marijuana (medical or otherwise) the dumber they become, AND you may notice that both recognized medical marijuana prescription drugs are considered “poison.” Chemotherapy also is a form of poison to the body because it involves toxic chemicals.

There are really only two supplements I would recommend while your mother is going through chemotherapy and that is:

SOURCE NATURALS BETA GLUCAN 250MG Tablet (Therapeutically, take 1 upon rising and 1 at bedtime EMPTY STOMACH; ok to take with other EMPTY STOMACH supplements)

RENEWLIFE ADULT 50+ PROBIOTIC GO PACK (Therapeutically, take 1 upon rising and 1 at bedtime EMPTY STOMACH; ok to take with other EMPTY STOMACH supplements). 100% BIFIDOBACTERIUM will not ferment in the stomach as much as other forms of beneficial flora. Also, avoid soy completely; see link for Soy Fun Facts posted in my response to AaronW below.

God bless you and your Mom; I am including everyone here in our prayers for God’s guidance in your lives.

HELLO AARON! I am sorry your wife is going through this. I agree with everything Dr. Lorna said and suggest the following supplements to systemically cleanse and rebuild, as well as to aid in dissolving fibrinogenic tissue:

SOURCE NATURALS YAEYAMA CHLORELLA TABLETS 600 count (5-10 upon rising, 5-10 midday and 5-10 at bedtime EMPTY STOMACH; ok to take with other EMPTY STOMACH supplements)

OR

SOURCE NATURAL YAEYAMA CHLORELLA POWDER 16 oz (1 tsp mixed in water upon rising, 1 tsp mixed in water midday and 1 tsp mixed in water at bedtime EMPTY STOMACH; ok to take with other EMPTY STOMACH supplements)

WITH

VITACOST FLAVENZYM, 800 (10 upon rising, 10 midday and 10 at bedtime EMPTY STOMACH; ok to take with other EMPTY STOMACH supplements)

AND

SOURCE NATURALS BETA GLUCAN 250MG Tablet (Therapeutically, take 1 upon rising and 1 at bedtime EMPTY STOMACH; ok to take with other EMPTY STOMACH supplements).

AND CONSIDER ALSO

RENEWLIFE ADULT 50+ PROBIOTIC GO PACK (Therapeutically, take 1 upon rising and 1 at bedtime EMPTY STOMACH; ok to take with other EMPTY STOMACH supplements). 100% BIFIDOBACTERIUM will not ferment in the stomach as much as other forms of beneficial flora.

Please also make sure she stays away from all foods and beverages that contain estrogenic compounds, such as soy. Most restaurants, especially chain restaurants, use soybean oil for grilling and frying, as well as smoking foods, plus they use soybean oil based mayonnaise, salad dressings, “buttery” spreads and much more, so please ask about this at restaurants. If they say they use “vegetable oil,” that is just another term for soybean oil in nearly all cases, so request that they read (and if they can, provide) the label information from their oil.

Be sure to read nutrition information on all restaurant or commercially packaged foods you have in your home (frozen, boxed, bagged, etc.). Look for soy, soy flour, soybeans, tofu, miso, hydrolyzed soy protein, soybean oil, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, just to name a few.

Also, stay away from plastics and petroleum-based products, which are known as “xeno-estrogens.” This includes plastic bags, wrapping, styrofoam trays and cups, etc.; it is interesting how we take so much of  this for granted and fail to realize the harm these products are causing all humans and animals on this planet.

Soy in any form is indigestible (commonly causes cramping, bloating, gas, diarrhea or constipation, runny or stuffy  nose and many other symptoms shortly after consumption). We believe many diseases and disorders may be caused by soy, which was once considered by the FDA and USDA to be a toxic neurotoxin, so why it was ever accepted as a dietary choice is a mystery. Soy is among the single most common allergens, perhaps because it is in everything! Further, soy also prevents the proper absorption of essential amino acids, minerals, fat-soluble vitamins and causes deficiencies in vitamins, minerals and many other nutrients.

In addition, soy contains estrogenic compounds, which may contribute to prostate, testicular, breast, uterine and ovarian diseases and disorders.

WOW! It’s like everyone I know and friends of friends of friends all have breast cancer! What is going on?

I haven’t been here for awhile since my hysterectomy. Want to thank you for your advice and I am doing great buy my mom had a hysterectomy years and years ago, just had mastectomies (both breasts) and is going through chemo. What do you think of medical marijuana? She lives in California, so she has easy access to it, but she is afraid of it too. But if it helps, why not use it if it’s legal where you live? Thanks doctor Lorna for your comments. I hope you can help us with this too. Missing the show but loving all the shows that are available. You’ve probably already talked about everything in all those shows, so I am really happy they are still available. THANKS!

Farrah

Hi AaronW:

Getting rid of all the junk food, sugar, white flour and going completely organic with plenty of vegetables and minimal fruit is an excellent place to start.  Some of the more celebrated supplements and herbs that have been shown to be useful for cancer are Boswellia Serrata, vitamin C, A, and E, and selenium, as well as vitamin D.  These nutrients help boost the immune system so that the body can try to fight the cancer. The importance of phytonutrients found in fruits and vegetables cannot be overstated.  Since sugar has been shown to be the preferred fuel of cancer cells, the sugar found in fruit should be minimized.  However, the phytonutrients contained in organic vegetables will contain little sugar and lots of benefit.  That is why the fruits allowed on the antifungal food list are low in sugar and high in phytonutrients. Since your wife was a frequent sushi eater, it would be advisable to have her checked for parasites.  Although not known to be a direct cause of breast cancer, parasites will occupy and thus deplete the capacity of the immune system she will need to fight her breast cancer.  It is important that she maintain a relationship with a physician who can monitor her progress in case conventional medical intervention is needed. Dr. Lorna

I miss your show and hope you’re still helping us. I’ve been with you for over 10 years and have always relied on you for common sense and healing illnesses in my family. My wife and I are being challenged. She was just diagnosed with breast cancer this past week after many tests and there is so much they want to do to her. She has that braka jean and they want to do chemo, radiation and surgery to take out her breasts. After our initial shock, we decided to try an alternate route. Without telling her “I told you so,” she has finally given up raw fish (bait) at our favorite Japanese steak and sushi restaurant. I copied your antifungal food list (is that the right one) and got rid of all of the junk food in our house, including white sugar, white flour and everything in a box or can. I went to the Whole Foods and got organic vegetables, meats and healthy snacks. Also, lucky for us, we have farms not far from us, a good friend is an organic dairy farmer, and we are getting raw milk. With figtree vitamins being closed, can you recommend products for her to use? We sure do miss you.

Aaron
