Debbie:

She doesn’t need the animal parade multi if she takes the Doctor’s Best Multi.  If the B-complex contains folic acid have her stop it.  The Doctor’s Best should contain enough of the active forms of the B vitamins.

Dr. Lorna,

I will give her the multivitamin mineral.  She’s currently taking Vit B complex, too.  As well as the Animal Parade multivitamin twice a day.  Not sure if she should be taking a different multivitamin.

Thank you,

Debra

Vicki,

I have the Evening Primrose that I was giving her, and I may have misunderstood you, that she could not take it because of her anti depressant.  I was trying to give more natural remedies in place of her anti depressants.  I have borage oil as well that I’m taking.  I can give her fish oil too as well as the Spirulina.  Does the primrose, borage, fish, spirulina and liquid vit D get taken at night?

Thanks

Debra

Hi Debbie:

I agree with Vicki, she needs the vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients provided in fruits and vegetables for her organs to mature.  In addition to Vicki’s recommendations, would she be willing to take a multivitamin mineral such as DOCTOR’S BEST

She could not give a definitive answer because there could be so many causes; however, I can tell you that when females do not consume sufficient vegetables, and low-glycemic fruits, they are deficient in nutrients that are essential to proper hormone balance. She needs to realize how important her diet is to her body, so I hope she changes her position on not consuming fresh vegetables and fruits, especially as we are coming into such a bounty of produce in spring and summer!

YUM!!

Is she, at least, willing to take things like Evening Primrose Oil, Fish Oil, Borage Oil, Spirulina and Vitamin D liquid under the tongue in supplement form?  Smile

Vicki,

Unfortunately, my daughter’s diet is not good.  She eats all meat with the exception of fish. No fruit or vegetables.  She’s not active like when she was younger.  She is about 115 pounds.  Not overweight nor to slim. The only medication is for depression.  And she’s taken 15mg per day.  The specialist is a pediatrician gynecologist. That appointment isn’t until June, though.  Her pediatrician said that she normally waits towards the end of 16 before she gets concerned but since we were there for my daughter’s well visit, she recommended the specialist. She could not give a definitive answer as to why my daughter has not started yet.

Thanks

Debra

Hi Debbie! It is so wonderful to hear from you.

There are multiple reasons for a young woman to delay menses, some are easily explained and not a problem, while others may be cause for concern and treatment. What can you share about your daughter’s health history? What medications, if any, is she taking (and for what reason, how often)? Is she heavily involved in sports? Is she severely underweight or overweight? What is her diet?

While most young women do start their cycles at an earlier age, some do not, but I am glad you set-up an appointment for her? You said she is seeing a specialist; is this someone other than her regular doctor or gynecologist? Has she seen any other doctor about this? If yes, what did that doctor(s) say?

Hi Vicki,

My 16 yr old has not started her menstrual cycle yet and was wondering what could be some causes for that?  She has an appointment with a specialist but not until June.

Thanks

Debra
